October 19, 2007

I woke up early and attended my class. We didn’t use up all the time in my first class so we were dismissed early. In my second class, we discussed about the guidelines in making a research paper. We still have a lot of time left before our class is over so we decided to play “silent dodge ball.” It was really fun because it’s a ball game but we were not allowed to make any noise. Controlling our shouting and excitement was a challenge. We didn’t have a lesson in my next class. Instead we helped connecting local area networking (LAN) cables for the programming competition on the following day. Measuring the length of the wires was easier than cutting and crimping because some of the tools were not sharp anymore. By the way, crimping is placing the two plastic ends of a LAN cable. That two plastic ends were also called as RJ45. The most exciting part was crimping because we have to make sure that all the wires in the LAN cable was properly connected. May last class was about Safety. Coincidentally, we were discussing about safety when we heard the news about what happened at G2. It was really sad. Our professor again reminded us to always be safe.

This evening was also the first of evening of the NSTP camp. We are hoping for a fun, exciting, and educational camp.

This was how the Media Lab looked like when we were placing LAN cables.
