DLSC-WTC-DLSC

Last Saturday, September 29, 2007, twenty two Engineering students and two faculties went to World Trade Center. It was the 14th Philippine International Electronics & Semiconductor, SMT and PCB Manufacturing Technology, Supplies & Services Exhibition. We left the school before 1 in the afternoon. We used two school vehicles, the KIA and the L300. Our trip going there was fun even though there was traffic. We cracked lots of jokes along the way and we really enjoyed the trip going to WTC. The KIA was earlier to arrive than the L300. When we were already at the place, we were not able to enter the exhibit right away. We have a little confusion about some things there. We were not properly informed on how to register by the organizers there. The guards told us that we have to fill up something then register. We did that and when it was our turn to hand over our registration forms, we were instructed to go to the other area. It was really a hassle because it was not clear that ordinary registration does not include students. We should’ve not placed students in our registration forms. Students were only allowed to enter the exhibit that Saturday because it was the last day. And students can only enter per batch. Originally, students were not allowed. Maybe because that exhibit was for those companies who are interested in buying equipment and supplies and students were just there to observe and learn. If only we knew earlier, then we could have escaped the hassle that we encountered. It was nice that we saw some equipment and other things. I really enjoyed our trip because we had more fun inside the shuttle than at the exhibit. Maybe for the guys, they enjoyed looking at the exhibit. Hahahaha!! Actually the ride was more fun on the way back to school. We passed thru this place and after a few minutes we were at Parañaque already. We have more jokes there and the guys were all excited to see “Engkantadia.” It was really funny how they were so looking forward to seeing this bar. They were happy when they saw it but really disappointed when they saw a guy. Hahahaha!!!! We considered the travel time our field trip and not the exhibit. Wahehehe!!

Teacher, teacher. What are you?

We were all given the chance to encounter different kinds of teachers. There are the “biased” teachers who don’t grade you based on your intellectual capabilities. But rather, they base the grade on how they favor the student. And I hate those because effort is very useless if not well-compensated. There are also the “friend-friend” teachers who are friendly inside and outside the classroom. They are too friendly that they don’t teach efficiently anymore but all their students pass. There are the “professional-professional” teachers who don’t care who or what you are. They teach and record the exam results as is. They don’t bother to look at the percentage of their passing students. They are just in school to do their job as a teacher and let the students do their part and they maintain their status as teachers inside or outside the classroom. There are those teachers who are “professional-friend”. They are those who are very good in teaching and make sure their students really learn, but suddenly transforming into an ordinary person outside the classroom. They are the ones whom we can discuss our non-academically related things in life. Traits of the last kind should be developed among all teachers, because it is a way of making themselves a well-rounded individual.

Mango float and Green mango shake

This evening I went out with Gen. Our agenda: buy grocery, internet café, and dinner. We first went to Rustan’s because there is an internet café, grocery store, and we can eat dinner there. The internet café was full when we came so we decided to guy grocery first then come back later. When we came back after buying our stuff, there was still no available slot so we decided to go to Paseo instead. We went to Paseo with our heavy grocery. Gen suggested that we go to Neospot. After Neospot, we went to Woodbridge to eat our dinner. We both ate 1 order of carbonara and a single pizza. We were not satisfied with our carbonara because our P115 was not worth it. It was not that tasty for us, and the serving is small. Carbonara in Pancake is better. Pasta in Brother’s is better. We planned to go home after that. Unfortunately we have no tricyle fare so we decided to have dessert. At first we were hesitant to go to Guilly’s because it was embarrassing to go there just to eat dessert. But we still have our dessert there. We looked at the menu and we saw pasta. We wished that we should’ve just eaten there. I told Gen that next time we will go to Guilly’s to eat pasta and desert.

My dessert... :)
