Out of School Youth

Nowadays, many youths are not in school. Some causes of this are lack of motivation, financial problems, and other additional factor. In addition to these, their living environment can also be a cause. In fact, if these youth are with people with no thought of going to school or having a bright future, they can be more prone to being included in the out of school youth.

Being an out of school youth is not the last part of the situation. Furthermore, it is just a phase in their lives. Many graduates are unemployed, therefore it is more likely that those who didn’t finished schooling will also be unemployed. Nevertheless, we can’t still say that out of school youth have no bright future. In fact, they may be luckier to get a decent job. However, they may encounter hard time because of their lack of experience and training. For instance, they work with those professionals and expect them to do more than their capabilities. They can easily be fired if the employer thinks that the employees are incapable.

Being an out of school youth is not an excuse for not doing well in life, therefore one must really strive hard to surpass some struggles. In addition, hard workers are well compensated in the future as long as they have goodness in their hearts.

Response to the feeling

We experience various happenings in life. There are times that we are up and there are times that we are down. Happiness is very easy to accept because it gives us good feeling. But during the time that we are so low or if there’s something hurtful that happens to us, we tend to give negative response to it. But our emotion is our own feeling and we can control it. It is our own decision that we are over powered by our inner thoughts. When something tragic has come our way, we have an option to deny or accept it. If we deny it, there can be so many regrets in our mind and all we can do is cry. It will be a burden in our heart unlike if we accept it. If we accept all things whole-heartedly then we won’t have a heavy feeling in our heart. During the time of regrets and denial, we think of many things. There will be times that we are mentally-absent. This can be a reason why there are some who space-out because they are very distracted. But if we can accept and move on, we can have peace of mind. We will not think of what if’s and if only’s because our thoughts are calm. If we continue in resisting the real thing, it will give us stress. And stress makes people older. But if we let go of whatever hurtful things in our own heart, we will be relieved. We can look prettier because we were able to carry our problems.

It is not that easy to accept everything that happens in our life. We should develop our accepting skill because it will benefit not only ourselves but also everything that surrounds us.

Underdog...

There was this Beagle who was not doing well in the force. There was an incident that they have to let him go. Wandering around the street, he was captured to become a guinea pig of a scientist. This scientist is making strengthening capsule and experimenting on dogs. During an experiment, this Beatle was able to intake the formula and became super strong. He was able to escape from that scientist.

He was walking along the alley when he was bumped by a security guard with his car. Seeing that he has no collar, he brought the dog home and gave it to his son. At first, his son was not thrilled of having a dog as his pet. When he learned that his dog has super powers, he was shocked at first but later on supporting his dog. They met a girl and her dog. That boy likes the girl and the Beagle likes her dog. The boy and the Beagle kept the super power secret. And the Beagle became very popular in saving the world.

Because of this, the scientist was able to pull his self together again with the help of his ever-loyal side-kick. He searched for that Beagle and he succeeded. He was able to make strengthening capsule again because of the Beagle’s DNA. Unfortunately, the boy’s family was at stake that the Beagle gave up his super powers for their safety. As expected, the scientist didn’t honor their agreement. Instead, he gave the three German Shepherds capsule. They were able to have more strength. And because they were army dogs, they were trained to follow only their boss’ order. And their boss is that scientist.

The scientist was able to have a moment of taking over the world. Unfortunately, there was a slight accident that the Beagle was able to swallow a capsule again. He regains his strength and talked to the German Shepherds. That Beagle was successful to convince the German Shepherds that the enemy there is the scientist.

The scientist and his side-kick were captured and are sent to jail. They were cell-mates. The security guard father got promoted and returned to the force. The son was happy with his girl and so is his dog. They live in their new and improved life and the Beagle remains a super hero.

Teacher, teacher. What are you?

We were all given the chance to encounter different kinds of teachers. There are the “biased” teachers who don’t grade you based on your intellectual capabilities. But rather, they base the grade on how they favor the student. And I hate those because effort is very useless if not well-compensated. There are also the “friend-friend” teachers who are friendly inside and outside the classroom. They are too friendly that they don’t teach efficiently anymore but all their students pass. There are the “professional-professional” teachers who don’t care who or what you are. They teach and record the exam results as is. They don’t bother to look at the percentage of their passing students. They are just in school to do their job as a teacher and let the students do their part and they maintain their status as teachers inside or outside the classroom. There are those teachers who are “professional-friend”. They are those who are very good in teaching and make sure their students really learn, but suddenly transforming into an ordinary person outside the classroom. They are the ones whom we can discuss our non-academically related things in life. Traits of the last kind should be developed among all teachers, because it is a way of making themselves a well-rounded individual.

Step up voltage

The term is “step up voltage.” There us no definition in the dictionary about this term as a whole. But there is a definition of “step up” and “voltage” separately. Step up is a verb meaning to increase especially in stages. Voltage is an Electromotive force or potential difference usually expressed in volts. “Step up voltage” is used in the electrical field.

The step up voltage of an appliance is the voltage when it was switched on. An example is that air-conditioning units should not be turned off and on if the vacant time is less than two hours because there’s a step up voltage before the voltage is stabilized. It means that the step up voltage is different from the voltage of an appliance. All appliances have step up voltage and it consumes more current thus resulting to higher power consumption. It is advisable that appliances should not be frequently switched off and in to avoid step up voltage. This can also help us conserve energy.

How am I as a listener...

How am I as a listener…? Some may say that it is just a simple question… But I cannot answer that easily. I’ve learned that there are certain kinds of listener. These are static, monotonous feedback giver, overly expressive, reader/writer, eye avoider, pre-occupied, waiting, and thought completing. Static seems like a no-reaction listener. I am not that kind. A monotonous feedback giver has same reactions to whatever he/she heard. I am also not that kind. An overly expressive is really expressive with his/her emotions that can sometimes be identified as exaggeration. I am sometimes like that especially when I am mad. I am really mad if I am mad. :) A reader/writer is a listener who writes everything. I don’t think that’s possible to write everything in full words not unless that person knew how to do short-hand writing. I don’t like to write so I am not that kind. An eye avoider is a person who avoids eye contact. I do practice eye contact with people but I am not good at it. Pre-occupied… Hmmmm… I don’t think I am a pre-occupied listener because if someone wanted to talk to me, I have to stop whatever I was doing to listen. If one sees me talking to somebody and I am doing another thing, I am not really listening. It just looks like it. One may think that I am actually listening but I am not. If I am doing both things at the same time, my focus is on what I am doing and not listening. :) Hehehehe…Waiting listeners are people who just wait for the cue that it’s their turn to speak. I am not like that because I don’t even like speaking especially in front of an audience.

Honestly, I am an attentive listener but I have low listening comprehension. Therefore I should think of ways on how to improve my listening comprehension.

Guess...

This is a grassy place where there are lots of different weeds. It has many kinds of plants, trees, and flowers. Plants here are grouped according to their names. There are big holes nearby that are visited regularly at around 3 in the afternoon. There is also a big tree that gives shade to those who are tired. This is a good place where one can relax and have a moment with their selves. But not everybody knows this place. Some might not even know it exists. The way to this place can be muddy in an ordinary day. It will become watery muddy during a rainy day. This is a place where some have seen but don’t know what it is called.

Entry #1

I am currently taking up ENGLONE. One topic that is on my mind right now is about logic operations. Therefore, I will discuss some basics about logic operations.

Binary variables and logic operations compose the binary logic. Binary variables are letters of the alphabet such as A, B, C, x, y, and z whose values can only be 1 and 0. The three basic logical operations are AND, OR, and NOT.

The AND operation is represented by a dot or no operator sign at all. Examples are x.y=z or xy=z. This is read as “x AND y is equal to z.” This logical operation means that z=1 if and only if x=1 and y=1; otherwise z=0.

The OR operation is represented by a plus sign. An example is x+y=z. It is read as “x or y is equal to z.” This logical operation means that z=1 if x=1 or if y=1 or both x and y is 1. If both x and y is 0, z=0.

The NOT operation is represented by a prime or an over bar. An example is x’=z or x (place a line over x) = z. This is read as “NOT x is equal to z.” It means that z=0 if x=1 or z=1 if z=0. This operation is also referred to as the “complement operation” since it changes 1 to 0 and 0 to 1.
